The George E. Mitchell Annual Fellowship Grant

George E. Mitchell was a community leader and activist who worked tirelessly to support the residents of the Park Heights community. He dedicated his life to loving and helping people, but always displayed a special love for the youth and for community pride. He believed in community responsibility and that everyone plays a role in building and sustaining a healthy and safe community. His leadership and passion will be missed by so many for years to come. 

 

We honor his legacy and his work through this fellowship that supports enthusiastic and innovative community leaders, organizations, partnerships, and social justice entrepreneurs implementing impactful projects that address social or economic challenges in the Park Heights community.

 

Fellowship Priority Areas: The goal of the fellowship is to inspire leaders and residents of Park Heights to implement creative community service projects that strengthen and develop community leaders, encourage community unity, and support social enterprises that increase opportunities and improve the quality of life for the residents of Park Heights. The Fellowship supports projects that address priority areas of the Park Heights Master Plan, Including:

Technical Assistance and Support
PHR will provide technical assistance and support to the fellow to ensure success of their project. Technical assistance may include serving as a fiscal agent, application assistance, marketing and promotion, access to administrative supplies and equipment (copier, fax, website postings, social media announcements, etc.).

Park Heights Community Impact Grants

About the Impact Grants: Park Heights Renaissance offers small grants for programs and events to neighborhood associations and organizations within the Park Heights Community.

 

Impact Grant Priority Areas: The purpose of the Neighborhood Small Grants Program is to provide funding for programs that promote and address community health, public safety, neighborhood beautification and greening, sports and recreation, capacity building of neighborhood associations, and youth programming. 

 

Eligibility: PHR honors the importance of small organizations and neighborhood associations that help meet the needs of residents within the contiguous communities of Park Heights. All non-sectarian, non-government organization residing in one of the 12 Park Heights neighborhoods – Arlington, Central Park Heights, Cylburn, Greenspring, Langston Hughes, Levindale, Lucille Park, Park Circle, Park Lane, Pimlico Good Neighbor, Towanda/Grantley, and Woodmere. The organization should have met at least four times within a 12-month period, have at least ten members, and a bank account in the organization’s name. To be eligible, applicants must be one of the following:
