For the summer of 2013, Park Heights Renaissance partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Atlanta and AZIZA PE&CE (Positive Energy and Children Excelling) to provide summer programming at Towanda Community Center for youth ages 5 to 18. United with the Baltimore Program to End Childhood Hunger, all youth at Towanda were able to receive FREE breakfast, lunch an supper. Additionally, PHR was awarded two grants enabling us to offer a stipend to four youth of Park Heights who assisted with food service daily. These You also canvassed Park Heights Neighborhoods throughout the summer to insure that families were aware of free Sumer Meals Program locations. Towanda Summer Programs offer academic support, life skills, physical fitness, field trips, and swimming at the Towanda Pool.
PHR sponsors youth programs for local children eager to learn and play in safe environments during their summer school breaks. Over the past three years, 600 Park Heights youngsters have joined in fun and leisure activities.
