George E. Mitchell was a community leader and activist who worked tirelessly to support the residents of the Park Heights community. He dedicated his life to loving and helping people, but always displayed a special love for the youth and for community pride. He believed in community responsibility and that everyone plays a role in building and sustaining a healthy and safe community. His leadership and passion will be missed by so many for years to come.
We honor his legacy and his work through this fellowship that supports enthusiastic and innovative community leaders, organizations, partnerships, and social justice entrepreneurs implementing impactful projects that address social or economic challenges in the Park Heights community.
Fellowship Priority Areas: The goal of the fellowship is to inspire leaders and residents of Park Heights to implement creative community service projects that strengthen and develop community leaders, encourage community unity, and support social enterprises that increase opportunities and improve the quality of life for the residents of Park Heights. The Fellowship supports projects that address priority areas of the Park Heights Master Plan, Including:

Technical Assistance and Support
PHR will provide technical assistance and support to the fellow to ensure the success of their project. Technical assistance may include serving as a fiscal agent, application assistance, marketing and promotion, access to administrative supplies and equipment (copier, fax, website postings, social media announcements, etc.).
